Woolhope Circular Walk

This 6.5 mile circular walk passes within 250m of the Butchers Arms. (250m East of Location Point 1 on the downloadable map)
You are welcome to park in our car park.
This walk is split into two sections. On is approximately 1.5 miles. and the other is approx 5 miles. Both sections pass close to the pub.

Haugh Woods

According to the Forestry Commission website “The name Haugh, which is pronounced “Hoff” is derived from the name of a Saxon owner indicating that this is the site of an ancient wood. Haugh Woods at nearly 350 hectares (850 acres) is nationally important for butterflies and moths, with over 600 species recorded within it. This makes the wood one of the top 10 woods in the country and is designated as a SSSI due to the presence of these invertebrates.”

Haugh Woods are close to the Butchers Arms – you are welcome to leave your car in our car park.
